Meet the Team

The VSAP is committed to developing a new voting system using a process that prioritizes the needs of the voter and utilizes sound data for decision-making. Two Committees were established to keep the project aligned with these goals. The Committees represent the voice of the voter and are important advisors to the project team.

VSAP Advisory Committee

About

The Advisory Committee is composed of a group of experts, stakeholders, and community leaders. Membership is comprised of individuals representing critical constituency groups and communities of interest, including voters with disabilities, language minority groups and ethnic minorities. Also represented are critical stakeholders such as election officials, political parties, and academic institutions/organizations.

Mission

To provide technical expertise and consultation on the voting system modernization process, in order to ensure that the integrity and transparency of the VSAP process is maintained and expanded upon to best serve Los Angeles County voters.

Goals

To provide input and guidance in the establishment of principles and general requirements of a voting system; and on the development or acquisition models the County intends to employ. The Committee will also advise and provide input for the development of a voting systems field implementation plan as it relates to community engagement and voter education.

About

The Technical Advisory Committee gathers voting technology experts, computer scientists, and practitioners. Membership is comprised of issue area experts, including voting system usability, accessibility, and security experts, and members of the public with significant experience in technology development and/or voting system issues.

Mission

To provide technical expertise and consultation on the voting system modernization process, in order to ensure that the integrity and transparency of the VSAP process is maintained and expanded upon to best serve Los Angeles County voters.

VSAP Internal Project Team

The VSAP Internal Project Team serves as internal advisors to ensure that all aspects of the VSAP voting experience are conducted in a fair, accessible and transparent manner. The internal experts are from the following bureaus of the department:
